Bow Hunting

The challenge and rewards of bow hunting in New Zealand can greatly appeal to the modern hunters of today.  Bow hunting offers a whole new adventure to hunting; it requires greater skill and more practice and the strategy of spot and stalk.

At Red Stag Trophy Hunting our guests are welcome to embark on this challenging adventure of hunting Red Stag and other species with the bow.  Large game can usually be taken at 40 – 50 yards compared to the modern rifle which allows hunters to shoot at distances of 100 yards or more.

The compound bow is the most popular hunting bow in New Zealand.  We recommend fixed broad heads and you will need to bring your own range finder.  Bow hunting is at its best early in the season with longer days and calmer game.
